We welcome Rakesh Gupta as our additional Engineering Manager

The rapid growth continues for Syntronic R&D Canada and as the latest addition to our management team we are pleased to welcome Rakesh Gupta as Engineering Manager. Rakesh has worked on various aspects of communications software for over 20 years, from devices with software on bare metal to multi services telecom equipment. His addition will strengthen our embedded software capabilities with a focus on Radio software. 

Prior to joining the Syntronic team, Rakesh worked at Qualcomm Inc as Director of Engineering responsible for RF Software on mid and low tier modems. Previously to that he was Director of Radio Software at Blackberry  responsible for integrating Qualcomm modems into Blackberry handhelds.

Rakesh is very excited to join Syntronic Ottawa team and help build competency in Radio software domain.

Syntronic delivers a new turnkey concept to an international customer

Syntronic was recently awarded a strategic business within the telecom area. For this project Syntronic will deliver a new turnkey concept that will mean expanded responsibility and an opportunity for a more effective method of production.  

Syntronic will have the responsibility to build, deliver and install advanced telecom and computer devices. To be able to shorten the lead time of deliveries, turnkey solutions are being built at our production site in Sandviken. The responsibility also includes functions such as project managers as well as managing purchasing. Syntronic will also assist with technicians on site that will take care of maintenance of the products.

The reason why the customer chose Syntronic as a supplier was because of our capability of delivering a turnkey solution where the customer only has one interface towards the supplier.

Our offer covers the complete life cycle of a product or system. We can help our customers from concept stage, or from any phase in the product life cycle, to finished product and aftermarket services.

New Region Manager for Syntronic within Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA)

Björn Östlund, previously managing director for Syntronic Software Innovations AB and Syntronic Research and Development AB, has entered the new role as region manager for Syntronic within Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

As region manager, Björn will be responsible for developing businesses and establish Syntronic on new markets, resource strategies and analyze the opportunity to establish new operations within the region.

Björn has been with Syntronic for almost 21 years and has experience from managing different R&D areas in Sweden and China.

Syntronic continue to grow in Indonesia

Syntronic is continuing on growing and increasing the business volume within our aftermarket services. During the previous fiscal year our aftermarket area had a growth of 150%. In a recently business we were given the confidence by one of our global customers to be responsible for operating one of their repair centres. Lars-Ola Klockervold is the new Managing Director for Syntronic Research and Development AB and Syntronic Software Innovations AB from 1st of May 2017.

Former Managing Director Björn Östlund will at his on request continue with a new role in the parent company, Syntronic AB.

Lars-Ola has a background as R&D manager at Ericsson and Sandvik, he has worked at Syntronic AB since June 2016 as Senior Vice President.

Syntronic attended Energy Delegation in Indonesia

Syntronic was invited by Business Sweden, the Swedish Energy Agency and Embassy of Sweden in Jakarta to participate in a delegation led by Mr Ibrahim Baylan, Minister of Policy Coordination and Energy and accompanied by Mr Erik Brandsma, Director General of the Swedish Energy Agency. The purpose with the delegation is to open up for new business possibilities within the energy sector in Indonesia. This delegation also contribute to a opportunity for the companies to present Swedish solutions and competence for Indonesian decision makers. This is how Business Sweden describes the situation for the energy sector within Indonesia:

- The demand for sustainable and innovative energy solutions in Indonesia is growing at an increasing rate. By 2019, Indonesia has set a target to increase total electricity capacity with 35GW. By 2025, the government is targeting 23% of the total energy mix to be made up by renewable resources. Swedish companies can offer a lot to the Indonesian energy sector - both energy efficiency solutions and solutions for improving the energy mix to focus on more renewable energy sources.

Syntronic was one of the Swedish companies that took part of the delegation and we presented how our services can support the energy sector transformation of Indonesia. We want to contribute with our knowledge and experience in the work of finding energy efficiency solutions for our customers.

Syntronic Awarded Prize for Growth

Syntronic Aftermarket services was awarded the ninth place on Tillväxtligan “the league of growth”, with a growth of 119% during the fiscal year 2015. Tillväxtligan is a list over the companies that have had the highest growth in Dalarna, Hälsingland and Gästrikland.

The growth is based on the companies annual accounts from previous fiscal year. Highest percentage increase of the revenue will result in a first place within the competition.

The following criteria’s also have to be fulfilled in order to receive a position on the list:

  • 5-249 employees
  • 5-500 million Swedish Crowns in revenues
  • Operating income > 100 000 kr
  • Stable finances
  • Growth in all the essential aspects should have been accomplished organically

Syntronic Signs a Frame Agreement with a Progressive and People Oriented Car Brand

Syntronic has recently signed a frame agreement with a world leading car manufacturer. The frame agreement covers design services within software, hardware and mechanics. Syntronic’s responsibility will also include project management as well as test and verification. Syntronic will carry out all the services on-site.

Syntronic’s experience within connectivity, active safety and electrification was one of the reasons why the customer chose Syntronic as a partner. We continue to grow in Canada – welcome Don Hawkins to our Management Team

Syntronic R&D Canada continues to grow and we are pleased to welcome Don Hawkins as Engineering Manager. He will strengthen our hardware system design capabilities and even further broaden our offer to customers in Wireless and RF. 

Don Hawkins has always enjoyed being a part of a team developing products that focus on meeting the customer's needs. Prior to joining the Syntronic team, he was a member of companies delivering successful products whether directly to consumers or to infrastructure providers. Don has worked within teams varying from RF hardware design to software systems, NPI introduction to carrier acceptance, and system architecture to production manufacturing.

We welcome our new General Manager to Syntronic Malaysia

Syntronic Malaysia is entering a new phase where the focus will be on strengthening our business within software development. It's with great pleasure we congratulate Tan Li Hsing as our new General Manager who will lead the organization towards the next level. Tan Li Hsing joined Syntronic in July 2009 as a project manager. After that he has worked as program/resource manager followed by Section Head of Sales.

Tan Li Hsing is a pro-active person who has a positive attitude and successful track record in sales as well as building and cultivating business relationships. He is a detail oriented and technically minded individual who has a long experience of improving and optimising delivery methods. Tan Li Hsing possess a degree in Engineering Electronics & Computer from La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia where he was awarded to be on the Dean’s Honors List. He has an extensive experience from working within the IT sector and thoroughly understands both hardware and software development lifecycles.
